Nokia N95

An update for you guys.

I emailed Three asking for some kind of confirmation on the N95 release.
I told them I didn’t expect an exact date, and that there have been a lot of dates thrown around on various blogs, and rumors that it wouldn’t be coming etc, and I can tell you that the following response is direct from Three Customer Service.

Hi Keir

We are currently testing the latest software provided to us by Nokia for the N95. If all goes well we will launch the N95 in small quantities, however it is not likely to be cheap (approx £150 on many tariffs). It is more than likely to be in the next couple of months if it does get released.

Admittedly, a lot of people have said they have spoken with Three and have been given various answers but the above was received today from Three so at this time, I guess you can take it as the most reliable information at this time.

  1. To be honest “next couple of months” is just not good enough. I’m getting really fed up of waiting now. For a few months I have been paying double on my current contract because I have come to the end of it and because I thought the N95 on three would only be around the corner. However the corner never seems to get any closer! “Small quantities” certainly doesn’t sound like I could get hold of one even when they do release it.

I thought it would be worth waiting for to get it on Three rather than on another network. I know I’ll only kick myself now if I don’t go with three and they release the phone a week later. As a prospective customer, it certainly hasn’t left me feeling comfortable about being a Three customer in the future. I’m sure I not the only one.

Is that a N95 in the top right hand corner, where it says ‘Buy X-Series NOW’? http://next.three.com/images/ang_buy.gif
